Third Week 9/14
Thank you for your continued commitment to supporting your student as they grow this fourth grade year. It has been wonderful to see the students each morning with smiles and exciting things to share. I am thankful for the opportunity to come alongside you, your students and your families this school year.
Looking at the week upcoming, we have our first 5 days of academics.
This week we will dig more into The Word picking up in Exodus. We have practiced our memory verses and will continue preparing our head and heart knowledge. The memory work sheets for the verses were printed and given to each student. Here is the reference:
Tues: Psalm 119:105 “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.”
Fri: 1 Corinthians 10:31 “So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.”
As we get to the middle of our week, we do have MAP testing. Please feel free to send a hard candy or some chewing gum in a labeled ziplock type bag. I will keep them and hand them out when we test. We will have 2 half hour sessions this week (reading) and two half hour sessions next week (math).
We will continue on in our Reading unit about Networks, this week moving into the genre of Biography. We will also work toward preparing for our SPELLING TEST on Friday. I have given your student the suffixes and the base words and they have access to their worksheets and activities from in class time throughout the week. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me.
The Spelling pattern for the week will look at the following suffixes: -ity, -ty, -ic The list of words we will test on include: basic, ability, festivity, management, loyalty, safety, community, enjoyment, microscopic, majesty
Each week as we close the week and look into the week ahead, our church provides multiple opportunities to rest and restore our bodies, minds and spirits through multiple worship times: Saturday evening at 5pm, Sunday morning at 8am, 9:30am, and 11am, and Monday evenings at 6:30pm. Come join me!
Blessings on your weekend. See you next week!
