Sixth week 10/5

Thank you for your commitment to your students as they work, stretch and grow this fourth grade year. It has been awesome to see the students each day with energy and excitement. I am thankful for the opportunity to come alongside your family this school year. 

I also want to shout out Ms. Bremer and all the third and fourth graders for their hard work and dedication to making the musical a fun and successful event. Praise God for the talent He has given to each student. 

Looking at the week upcoming, we have some items to address:

Parent teacher conferences are Thursday and Friday. If you have not signed up yet, please do so. I am looking forward to hearing your perspective on the fourth grade year so far, and also addressing concerns that have surfaced. 

We have practiced our memory verses and will continue preparing our head and heart knowledge. The memory work sheets for the verses were printed and given to each student. Here is the reference: 

Tues: Isaiah 43:11 “I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no other savior. 

Fri: 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

We have finished MAP testing and I am proud to say all students worked hard at attending during the testing. We will celebrate the energy, effort and attendance with special drinks served at Friday’s lunch.

We will continue on in our Reading unit about Networks, this week moving into the genre of Biography. I will be doing another reading sample with students, one on one, to provide the most current feedback for you at parent teacher conferences.

We will also work toward preparing for our SPELLING TEST on Friday. I have given your students access to their worksheets and activities from in class time throughout the week. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me. 

The Spelling pattern for the week will look at the following pattern: prefixes mis-, em-, en-. The list of words we will test on include: misspell,  misbehave, misplace, enlarge, empower, encourage, enclosure, endanger, misjudge, misunderstand

Each week as we close the week and look into the week ahead, our church provides multiple opportunities to rest and restore our bodies, minds and spirits through multiple worship times: Saturday evening at 5pm, Sunday morning at 8am, 9:30am, and 11am, and Monday evenings at 6:30pm. Come join me!
