God is so good! He has continued to watch over, protect, and bless us as we move closer to the end of our school year. He continues to work in each of us, strengthening our spirit and giving us patience and understanding for each day of school. I pray that as we enter our last month together, God fills you with direction and resolve to finish strong.

A couple of items to mention:

Wednesday, May 14th at 6:30pm in the Library there will be an Introduction to Middle School - a night to help with the transition into 5th grade and all of middle school. Please reserve this date on your calendar for you and your new middle school student. If you plan to attend, please RSVP through this Google Survey: https://forms.gle/uFyH5W8637mqr5Se9

Chapel offering: For the months of April and May, our chapel offerings will be sent to support the LCC K-9 comfort dogs organization. This ministry, which began in 2008, works to help bring comfort to people through the calming presence of Golden Retrievers.  Thanks to generous donors, this ministry is free for everyone they help. Our contributions can help ensure that this special service continues to be available to those who need it! Each student will also be given a Mite box to collect donations. These should be turned in by our closing chapel on Friday May 30th

Dear Parents,

In the next two weeks, your child will be taking the MAP test. MAP stands for Measure of Academic Progress. It is a computerized, adaptive assessment developed by NWEA that measures student achievement and growth in mathematics and reading. MAP tests are used to track student progress throughout the school year and inform instruction.

During this time, students often feel stressed and anxious and could use motivation from their loved ones.  You can play an important role in providing a letter to your child to support their efforts in the coming weeks.  You received a white envelope last week.  In that envelope there were instructions and a blank sheet that you can use to encourage your child.  Please use this opportunity to let your child know they have learned so much again this year!  God has gifted them with gifts and talents.

We are collecting the letters and will be handed to children right before they take the test on their assigned day!

I am including a link to Amazon for items for next year's classroom. I am blessed to have received new things for this year’s class, and I am looking forward to blessing my next class, too!

Memory Work:

Tue 4/29: 2 Corinthians 9:7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or from compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Thurs 5/2: Luther’s Evening Prayer: I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ your dear Son, that you have graciously kept me this day. And I pray that you would forgive me all my sins where I have done wrong, and graciously keep me this night. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let your holy angels be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen

The spelling test is on Thursday and the list follows multisyllabic words

Complex, fortress, function, partner, substance, extreme, complaint, sculpture, emphasize, technical, puncture, congress

As always, there are many perfect opportunities to set yourself up for successful worship.

It is essential for your eternity and important for you and your family’s spiritual growth. I would love to have the honor of worshiping alongside you and your family. We have worship on Saturday evenings at 5pm, Sunday morning at 8a, 9:30a, and 11a, and on Monday evenings at 6:30p. We also have Sunday school from 8:15-9:15 for students pre k-6th grade!
