My name is Rachel Nelsen and I am a new teacher
here at St. Paul Grafton. I am entering my sixth year of teaching.
I have previous experience teaching first grade at Wilson
Elementary in Mequon and Rockford Lutheran Academy in Rockford IL.
I graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2012 with a
degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Psychology. I have a
passion for literacy and sharing that with my students to create
lifelong learners. I have a strong background in integrating
technology into the classroom and creating hands on activities for
all learners to engage and motivate them to reach their highest
potential. I am an advocate for all students and believe in
creating a safe and respectful classroom environment where all
students feel safe to take risks, grow, set goals, and be
For just as each of us has one body
with many members, and these members do not all have the same
function, so in Christ we,
though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the
others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to
each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in
accordance with your faith; if
it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach;if it is
to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give
generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show
mercy, do it cheerfully.
"My mission is for my students to develop skills to be
successful, learn in a nurturing classroom where they feel safe to
take risks, develop a love of learning, and grow in their walk with
the Lord. Our classroom is built around respect for each other and
love for God. We seek to serve God in all that we do as we learn,
grow, and laugh together as a community of learners."
