The Center for Academic Resources and Enrichment:
- Uses various screenings and tests to determine students’ strengths and areas of needed skill develpment.
- Provides one-on-one and /or small-group instruction for all students.
- Provides opportunity for advance readers to develop their skills.
- Director, Denise Gieschen, assists parents and teachers when a learning disability is identified.
Students identified as gifted receive enrichment instruction and/or consultation in the Center for Academic Resources and Enrichment.
Mrs. Denise Gieschen is the Center for Academic Resources and Enrichment Director.
Mrs. Gieschen brings over 20 years of teaching experience to our staff. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Concordia University River Forest and went on to Cardinal Stritch University where she received a Master’s Degree in Reading Education. Mrs. Gieschen has taught Pre-K, 1st Grade and 3rd Grade both here in Wisconsin as well as in Michigan.
Mrs. Gieschen is married to her husband Tim, who is principal at Grace Lutheran School in Menomonee Falls. They have four daughters: Elyse (works at Iowa State University in Aimes, Iowa), Kayla (studying to be a Physician Assistant in Chicago), Lauren (accountant in Milwaukee) and Abigail (nurse in Milwaukee). Her hobbies away from school include spending time outdoors – walking and snowshoeing, along with spending time with family. Denise is also a huge fan of Pinterest!
