week of Oct. 19- Nursery rhymes
.This coming week, We get to share one of my favorite things in 2K; Nursery Rhymes!! We will explore them in books, songs, rhythm and with hands on art projects to help us recall them. Some rhymes we will focus on include, Hickory, Dickory Dock, Humpty Dumpty, I'm a little teapot, Mary had a little lamb, and Little Miss Muffet to name a few. 2K will make some funny rhyming words of their own and take home a mini book of bedtime rhymes to share at home. We will balance on our beam as we pick up some broken Humpty dumpty eggs. We will be "Jack" and jump over a battery- operated pillar candle. We made up a little pumpkin rhyme you will find outside our cubbies this week to go with last week's art.
Jesus time: We will read the Bible story of Jesus' miracle of 5 loaves and 2 fish to feed the 5000. The little boy shared his food and Jesus did something wonderful with it.
Welcome! Theodore and family to our Tues. Thurs. class beginning this week.:-) We'll have a page to add to our friend books sent home.
Snack/Star of the week this week

Some great snack ideas include: Goldfish, applesauce pouches, yogurt( big container we can scoop from is fine) , pirate booty, yogurt bites/melts, graham crackers, bananas (we can slice),grapes we can cut into quarters, cheerios or other small cereal, muffins, and soft Nutrigrain type bars. It does not need to be in individual packages. Thank you!
Important upcoming dates:
Thurs. Nov. 19 Thanksgiving Feast for both classes- mid morning. M,W is invited to come and share in Thanksgiving feast fun. I will confirm exact time with the rest of Pre-K. If your child has a sibling doing their feast on Friday, they could potentially come then instead if easier for you.
Nov. 23-27: No School – Thanksgiving Break
Dec. 5: Cookie Walk- yummy! If you love baking- watch for the cookie walk papers coming home next month. We'd love to have as many families as possible donate some delicious treats or come and shop from the wonderful variety of Christmas favorites.
