Weekly Note
August 25-28, 2026
I am so happy to officially welcome you to St. Paul Lutheran School for the 2026-2027 school year! I am so excited to get to know your family and work with you and your child under the theme “Christ’s Kingdom in Motion” based upon 1 Peter 4:10! This week, we will spend lots of time getting to know each other and learning about our new school and our classroom. Please remember to have your child’s name labeled on his/her backpack, folder and extra clothes. In addition, it is important to check their folder each night to see the important papers that your child will be bringing home.
Our theme this week will be “God Made Me”. We will look at our wonderful handprints and see how they are all different. We will paint our library bags and a special handprint to take home and hang up as a reminder of how we are a special creation made by God and how we are always growing and changing. We will sing some fun songs to get to know each other’s names and learn the classroom rules and routines. We will also take little trips around the school and find where the gym, library and chapel are. We will also spend some playtime out on the playground and enjoy the outdoors!
Our Bible Lesson will be “What is God Like?” from Psalm 115:3. We will talk about how we cannot see God, but we know that He loves us and cares for us. We will also read the story “The Kissing Hand” by Audrey Penn, where we will meet a little raccoon named Chester who goes to school for the very first time! You can ask your child what happened in the story and share a kissing hand too!
Mark your calendar for Thursday, August 27th! The Panther Parents are hosting a Back to School Family Event. There will be food to purchase sponsored by the 8th grade, and the kids receive free ice cream! There will be bounce houses and games, along with lots of fun and fellowship! The event begins at 4:30 and ends at 6:30.
