September 21-25, 2026 “Shapes”
It was a colorful week in 4k! We spent the week talking about all of the colors in our world and we learned what our favorite colors are. We read a fun book called The Crayon Box That Talked and did a fun art project to go with the story. Our letter this week was the letter Yy. We practiced writing it and saying its sound. Our Bible lessons were about Cain and Abel and Noah’s Ark.
Next week we will have fun with shapes. A brown bag was sent home with your child on Friday. Please have your child put one object inside of the bag that makes a shape. For example, a book that is shaped like a rectangle, a magnet shaped like a heart, a cookie cutter shaped like a circle, etc. Please have your child bring the bag back to school on Wednesday. We will take turns trying to guess what shape is inside of each other’s bags. Our letter for next week is the letter Rr. Our Bible lessons will be about the tower of Babel and Abraham listening to God.
Also next week we will have our first Kindergarten Buddy Day. This is a fun day where we get to spend some time in one of the Kindergarten classrooms. We have four of these throughout the year.
Next week Wednesday is our Kindergarten/PreK Popsicles and Play date. If you haven’t RSVP’d yet, please do so as we need to get a final count for the popsicles. The link to sign up is below.

I am also in need of a room parent for the AM class. As a room parent you will help me send out sign-ups for our special days (Christmas party, Valentine’s party, Easter hunt, etc.) You will also work with the other Preschool room parents to gather items for our auction basket. If you would like to have your child’s picture retaken next week Wednesday, please let me know. Pictures are retaken during the school day so I need to bring them up to VIP for the photo.
