Religion

We will read how Abraham’s servant showed his faith by praying to God and trusting God’s answer.  We will discuss how God wants us to bring our worries and troubles to him in prayer and how God wants us to love him more than anyone or anything else.

Memory: Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Reading

The students will read a procedural text to learn the importance of putting steps in order and not skipping over steps when reading.  

Phonics: short u

Reading Fluency Skill:  Rereading to look for details

Spelling: – short u   1.5    bug, dug, hug, tug, *to, *with

We will learn about using color and true to life details in our illustrations.  The students will label or write sentences to go with their pictures.  

Grammar:  Lesson 17:  Using adjectives (synonyms and expanded sentences)

Unit 3: Students will compare numbers using <, >, and = symbols.  We will also practice counting on and take the unit test.

Fire Safety Week –  This week we will learn about staying safe around hot things, calling 911, stop/drop/roll and making an escape plan.
