Feelings, feelings, feelings; God gave us fabulous feelings to help us become more aware of ourselves and needs of those around us. This is our focus for the next week, but also something we will continue to build upon throughout the year. With the help of some fun books and a feelings version of “if you’re happy and you know it”, we will discover and name some common feelings that especially 2 year-olds might have 🙂 Our story list includes Grumpy Pants by: Claire Messer, The Feel Good Book, by: Todd Parr, and a new board book that I’m so excited about called What if I know my feelings? by: Michelle Nelson-Schmidt. 2K will play a happy /sad feelings game with floor spots. We will finally get to do some free painting at the easel and I will ask, with maybe a little prompting, how they are feeling while they are painting. This may allow us to name a number of different words for happy feelings. Impromptu learning through our play is some of the best kind, so we will be sure to ask, name, and look at our 2K friends faces to see what emotions we might be having as we play and learn.
Jesus time: We will hear the story of God’s protection of Moses as a Baby . We heard the Bible verse “When I am afraid I will trust in you.” lastThursday and sang a sweet song with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbAkKDBQoG8 They seemed mesmerized by it, so we will bring that up again this week. 2Kwill complete our Jesus with his arms out project this week.
