This week, we look at and practice many ways to be safe and those people that help to keep us safe. With summer approaching we will touch on crossing the street with a grownup, looking both ways, wearing helmets when riding our bikes and scooters, kitchen safety, playground safety, asking a grownup before we go into a pool, and that police and firefighters are there to help us. We will read How do Dinosaurs stay safe?” and sing our favorite Laurie Berkner’s song about pool safety.
Above all, Jesus keeps us safe! That doesn’t mean we wont get bumps and bruises. We know our 2 and 3 year-olds are good at that, not to mention the skinned knees that shorts season brings! However, we can be thankful of how our God heals us. This might be a good time to go through the family 1st aid kit and show those items to your child that God can use to help heal us. Our Bible story is “The Good Samaritan” God used a kind man to help one who was injured. Students can roll play with a family member both getting hurt and asking and giving help. We have a special Jesus band-aid that students will receive this week in folders to remind them of how God made our bodies heal and He gives us grownup and friends to help us when we are hurt.
