Week of May 23

We will begin our final week of preschool by going on a fieldtrip on Monday to explore the dairy farm at Roden Barnyard Adventures. It will be fun to learn what cows eat, meet the newest baby calf on the farm and even feed a calf! We will also get a chance to see their new milking parlor and walk through the free-stall barn! If we have extra time, we will also meet Donkey and his goat friends, the chickens and pigs too! We will learn some fun and fantastic things about God’s wonderful creation.  The tour will last the entire class time.  We will have an ice cream treat at the farm, so the Star of the Week does not need to bring a snack. Please dress to be outdoors…boots or old shoes, long pants and a warm coat! Due to the rain, it may be muddy and the weather looks like it is going to be cooler!

Wednesday we will be finishing up our memory books and celebrating a fun school year (and Henry’s birthday) with an ice cream party. We are also praying for some nice weather so we are able to go play on the big kid playground that the kids will get to go on next year for Kindergarten.

Closing chapel will take place Friday at 10:00am. Please drop your child off in our classroom around 9:50 and then you may go and find a spot in the sanctuary. The kids will sing a few of their favorite songs from the year, Mr. Yurk will give a message and then they will be dismissed to you for the summer. Please come back to the classroom to grab your child’s library bag which will be filled with all their alphabet binder and other goodies. Feel free to take pictures of your child with classmates or teachers in the sanctuary, outside or in the family life center after the service. We will not be meeting for normal school this day.
