Week of December 19th

The Perfect Plan!  Thanks be to God that He had and has the perfect plan.  As you celebrate the season, please remember the plans God has for each one of us especially the plan He has for our salvation.

  • Jesus is the Reason Breakfast: Thank you so much for all those that organized, donated, and participated in the breakfast.  I understand it was a great success.
  • Gift Exchange: During our Christmas party on December 22nd, we will be having a gift exchange.  Please have your child bring a gift of their same gender.  We will be doing a fun exchange.  On the tag indicate if it is from a boy or girl and leave the student name off!  Gifts should be no more than $5.  Please bring gifts anytime between now and Wednesday.  Thanks to those that have signed up for snacks during our party!
  • December 22nd:  Please note this school day has been changed to a half day.  Dismissal is at 11:40.
  • Miss Goodwin: Our student teacher will be teaching a full week right after Christmas.  Her time with us ends on January 21st.
  • Reading: The students are heavy into our mystery unit and their own mystery books.  We will be reviewing some Christmas books and going on a Candy Cane mystery of our own.
  • Math: This week we will learn about parallel and perpendicular lines as well as review some previous concepts.
  • Spelling: There will be no spelling this week.  Yay!  You may review any previous lessons at spelling city for fun games and activities to learn the words.  https://spellingcity.com/users/Haas
  • Religion: This week we will review different parts of the Christmas story as well as watch a movie about Joseph from the Old Testament since we spent so many week talking about him.
  • Writing: We are finishing up our persuasive arguments and presenting our posters in class next week.
  • Memory Work: This will only happen on Tuesday.  We went a touch out of order and will finish with the 10th Commandment on Tuesday as we did the meaning last week.
  • Christian Character Formation Project:We will have a week off from this.
  • Weekly Quote: At this Christmas when Christ comes, will He find a warm heart?  Mark the season of Advent by loving and serving the others with God’s own love and concern. – Mother Teresa
