Week of August 17th

Welcome Back 5th Grade Families!

I am so excited to begin the school year!

A few notes regarding the beginning of the year:

Orientation will take place on Thursday, August 20th from 10am-12pm and 4pm-6pm. First, students will be getting their picture taken upstairs. We encourage that students dress nicely for their photo! After photos, students and parents will come downstairs to our classroom to get themselves ready for the year!

  • I have student artwork from the fair that can be taken home
  • Students will receive their assignment notebook for the year
  • I will also have copies of student schedules available
  • There will be places in the classroom to drop off “Tell the Teacher More” forms, Kleenex, and wipes
  • Students will also be able to sign up for fall sports, and parents can sign the back of the fall sports handbook. You may also turn in sports physical forms if you have them.
  • School supplies can be put in student lockers. Their locker will have their name on it.

I am so excited to meet all of you on Thursday!

The First Day of School is Tuesday, August 25th. Unlike previous years, this day is not a chapel day. However, we will have our opening chapel on Wednesday, August 26th. Students should be in chapel attire on this day. The air conditioned rooms can sometimes get chilly, so be sure to bring a non-hooded sweatshirt if needed.

Panther Parents Back to School Night will take place on Thursday, August 27th from 4:30-6:30pm. This will be a fun event to celebrate the beginning of another great year!

K-8 Back to School Informational Night will be on Tuesday, September 1st beginning at 6pm. Parents will first meet in the Family Life Center at 6pm for a large group meeting. Then, parents will be dismissed to go to their child’s homeroom teacher’s meeting. You may either go to the 6:30 or 7:15 homeroom teacher meeting. There will also be a band meeting at 7:15 or 8:00.
