Nov. 1-5, 2021 Fabulous Feelings

We will spend our week learning about our fabulous feelings. We will play games and role play different ways that we feel when situations occur. We will also learn about how to handle our feelings when we are frustrated, angry or very excited. We will meet a little friend named impulsive puppy and talk about how we can calm down when we experience these strong feelings that we have sometimes. We will read the story “My Many Colored Days” and talk about how our feelings can change throughout the day. We will also learn about our Zones of Regulation and talk about how to calm ourselves down when our feelings get too strong. This week will be a great extension from our theme a couple of weeks ago when we learned about Preschool Pals and read the story “How Full is Your Bucket”. Please revisit these concepts at home as we continue to work on our actions and behaviors.

Our Bible lesson will be Joseph Becomes a Ruler in a Faraway Land from Genesis 37. We will talk about how God can change sad things to work for our good and that he is in control of our lives.

Our November Calendar and Book Orders were sent home last week. Please look at the flyers and see if there are some items that you would like to order. These make great Christmas Gifts and special surprises for your child. Let me know if you would like me to keep them a secret and I will gladly package them up and hand them to you. Book Orders are due on Friday, November 5th. You can order online at www.scholastic.com/bookclubs

We will be celebrating all that God has blessed us with by having a Thanksgiving Feast with other PreK and Kindergarten friends. A note will be coming home soon explaining what your child should bring to share to make our feast extra special. In the past, parents were invited to join us, but due to Covid, we are not able to have guests at this time. We will keep you updated if this changes. Thank you for your cooperation!

Please also note our upcoming Christmas Service in December, along with our practice date on Friday! I will be sending home some things that you can practice with your child in preparation for this special service.
