We had fun last week as we began learning about dinosaurs. We will continue our unit on Dinosaurs and learn more about different characteristics of dinosaurs by reading a rebus story to help us learn and remember the characteristics. We will make dinosaur prints, dinosaur patterns and believe that we are paleontologists and learn how to put dinosaur “bones” together to make a skeleton. The children will be bringing home a “dinosaur egg” that we made at school. The egg has a plastic dinosaur in it. You can help your child be a paleontologist by cracking open the egg with them. Our Bible Lesson will be God gives Food to His People from Exodus 16. We will talk about how God took care of His people by giving them food to eat and how God takes care of us and gives us what we need every day.
This week our school will be celebrating Lutheran Schools Week. It is a great week to think about all of the ways that God has blessed us through St. Paul and give thanks for the blessings he provides through our school. We will have special dress up days planned. Please see the information below.
Monday is “Team Cooper” Day. Cooper is a student in 4th grade who is having brain surgery. We will be praying for him in our class and encourage families to pray for him and his family. Here is a picture of Cooper:

Registration is now open for the 2022-2023 School Year. Please register through our website: www.splgrafton.org/school
The February calendar, Valentine information and Scholastic Book Orders will be sent home this week. We will be having our classroom Valentine’s Day parties on Monday, February 14th and Tuesday, February 15th .. A Room parent will be sending out a sign up for you to donate an item for our party. Please use the “labels” that will be sent home for their valentines. They can cut them apart and glue or tape them to the front of their valentines. I would like them to try to write their name on the back of their cards to sign them. This may take some kids awhile, so try to do a couple at a time. The kids will be delivering their valentines to their friends by using the numbers on the labels. They will be matching the numbers and letter in their name to the correct Valentine Mailbox. We will be making their Valentine Mailbox at school, so no need to work on that at home.
You may order your books through the website www.scholastic.com and use the Code GLVNV, or you may fill out the forms on the back of the flyers and return it to me with a check to “Scholastic Books” and I will order them for you. Book orders are due on Friday. February 4th.
