Dear Families,
This was our last week of the Trimester. Only 1 trimester left!! Wow, times goes quickly. Interest day was an amazingly fun day!
This Past Week:
This week we continued our study of Moses and God’s plan for him and the Israelites in the desert. This week we learned about the Holy Place that served as a place of worship for the nomadic Isrealites and the Day of Atonement. For Reading, we continue in our unit Character Studies, which helps the students take a deeper look into why authors wrote the characters in the books they read. Our Mentor Text is Because of Winn-Dixie, which provides a great illustration of character development. The students are enjoying their book clubs as well. In Science, we closed the chapter of climates around the world. We will start our next unit Life Cycles and Traits.
Next week:
Christian Character Formation Project will be about Jesus Blesses the Children. Our virtue is RESPECT: Respect is God’s power for you to honor Him and others. We strive to answer the question: How can a childlike faith enable you to show love and respect for others?
A peek ahead Lent continues on Wednesday night service. In math we focus on more Geometry concepts. Many students are well on their way up the quest to become a Multiplication NINJA. HOWEVER, some really need to practice their FACTS!!! Keep working on it!! We continue our new UNIT: Character Studies in reading. We start a new unit in Science: Life Cycles and Traits.
