8th Grade Weekly Update

Christ’s Kingdom in Motion

Updates

Welcome to 8th grade — and a new school year!  I am very much looking forward to working with, alongside, and for you while we together reflect this year’s theme — Christ’s Kingdom in Motion based on 1 Peter 4:10:  As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace. Imagine all the ways each of us can use the individual and intentionally-given gifts to grow, to support one another, and to reach others.  I truly love my job! 🙂

I extend genuine gratitude to all of you for several things:

  • First, thank you for providing breakfast for the teachers on our first official day back.  Doing so showed your consideration for us, and truly, we enjoyed the fellowship throughout the meal.
  • Second, thank you to all of you who have planned and organized for the upcoming Back to School Night Event as well as for the Church Picnic.  I am certain they both will be good fundraisers for the DC trip; I know that they both are ways to draw together and strengthen our St. Paul community.
  • Third, thank you for sharing your children with me.  It is an honor.

A few reminders:

  • If you haven’t turned in the “Tell the Teacher More” forms, I’d love them.  I know that I’ve had the opportunity to work with your children already, but I always appreciate the perspectives you offer as parents.
  • Chapel is on our second day of school this year, the usual day for chapel, Wednesday.  This change allows us to have a little more time in our homerooms before heading up to church, and as you can imagine, may be especially helpful for our kindergarten classes.  Please remember chapel dress.
  • Backpack blessing and faculty installation happens this Sunday at both the 9:30 & 11:00 services.
