- Patterns of Power: Our unit – using commas correctly as a tool for readers … Writers add detail to their work, providing stronger pictures for their readers, through using participial phrases and through adding dependent clauses. Writers also note when to use commas with these phrases and clauses as that tiny piece of punctuation provides clarity for readers. Look for the assessment late this coming week.
- Writing: We introduced our next argumentative piece, an apology. I know argumentative and apology seem almost as oxymorons, yet we know that in order for an apology to have merit, we must show an understanding of another perspective.
