5th Grade Families,
We did it! Now that we are 5 weeks in, many of the fifth graders had a full week complete with an intruder drill, chapel family time, two science labs, and multiple quizzes. Please continue to expect assignments and workload to increase a little more each week. This next week, we will continue prepping for our Chapel Service in October. We did our first CHANCE ticket drawing today (ask your child about CHANCE tickets). I encouraged everyone to take home their gym uniforms after school today so they don’t smell up their lockers… please be sure to wash them and have the students pack them back in their backpack before Sunday night. Dress Code Reminders: Since they are in middle school now and it is getting cooler, just a friendly reminder that sweatpants and pajama pants (wide leg pants) are not within our middle school dress code. It is OK to wear jeans, khakis, or pants that have a cuff/band or elastic at the bottom. Also, ugg slippers do not have a back and are not to be worn. Thanks! Blessings on your weekend.

📜Middle School Progress Reports 9/28: In middle school, progress reports come out every four weeks leading up to report cards. The first round of progress reports will be printed and go home with students this coming Monday. They are to be SIGNED BY A PARENT (indicating you have seen your child’s current grades) & returned to school the next day.
Please Note: **If anyone is currently in sports AND has any D’s or F’s, you will also receive an Athletic probation form, which will need to be signed & returned. You have TWO WEEKS to bring up your grade(s) before you would be removed from your team/club.
🗣️🔊Forensics: One of the exciting opportunities that is open to 5th graders is Forensics! Forensics is a speech/drama-esque competition where students are given a piece to perform for a group of judges. Mrs. Pingel talked with the class last week, and permission slips were given to those who were interested on Thursday. It’s an awesome way to get comfortable speaking in front of people! (and doesn’t require any memorization). Please ask your child if he/she signed up and if not, encourage your child to participate – there is still time to try Forensics! The one and only competition will be one Saturday in November @ Sheboygan Lutheran High School.
⛪Class Chapel: You are invited to attend our fifth grade chapel service on Wednesday, Oct 7 at 8:25am.
💲🧺5th Grade Auction Basket Update: Please LOOK for an email from Jamie Nevins earlier this week for details on how you can help our school by donating an item(s) to our 5th Grade “Made in Wisconsin” class basket.
🧑🔬CALLING ALL ENGINEERS & SCIENTISTS: I am looking for volunteers to help with my “Bring Your Scientist/Engineer to School Day” events this year. If you (or someone you know) works in the field of engineering or science, please reach out if you may be interested in doing a mini-career day with our fifth graders this year. I would have you tell students a little bit about what you do and/or we could do a Q&A session. I am always looking to plant seeds for future scientists & engineers! You would need the flexibility to come to St. Paul ONE day this school year between 10am and 11:30am. Please contact me if you (or someone you know) is interested. Thanks!
