Fifth Grade — Mr. Fischer

We had a great first week back from break.  Chapel is coming along nicely and should be a great one on Wednesday.  Please be sure to look over the new mask requirements.  I have discussed them with the class as well.  The classes have all been updated. Blessings on your weekend!

Workbook lessons/Chapel Preparation

John 20:17-18: "Jesus said, 'Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.' Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: 'I have seen the Lord!' And she told them that he had said these things to her."

We are back to P.E. on Friday.  They will have art with Mrs Thiede for the 4th quarter.

We continued our nutrition unit.

Study Skills

We are done!

We will cover these topics in math this week:  Using estimation when dividing by a 2 digit number, reciprocals, using reciprocals to divide fractions, and ratios.  Math TEST: Wednesday April 14.

We spent most of last week on physical and behavioral adaptations and how they help organisms survive and thrive.  We also talked about what happens when an organism is unable to adapt to a changing environment.  This week's focus in science will continue to be ecosystems with more of a focus on how matter and/or energy moves through an ecosystem.  We are going to analyze different types of specific ecosystems and explore how biotic and abiotic factors interact with and depend on one another in some specific examples. Food chains, food webs and energy pyramids will all be part of our work this week as well as we learn how matter and/or energy moves through an ecosystem.  I do expect to do a few small checkpoints during the week, but NO major tests or projects are planned.   As always, you can keep up with our day to day assignments and any changes to this schedule at
