Although the majority of Deborah's two-decade career in
education has been as a teacher in pre-school and the primary
grades in Lutheran schools, she has spent four years
teaching English as a second language to students of all ages
as a LCMS Youth Ministry volunteer to Japan. Deborah has been at
St. Paul for fifteen years and is presently teaching second
grade. She is a graduate of Concordia University, River Forest, IL,
where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education
with concentrations in English Literature and Theology.
Deborah enjoys spending time with family and friends,
playing handbells, camping, hiking, swimming, watching old movies
and reading.
I believe that the purpose of a Christian teacher is to assist
parents in carrying out their responsibility to provide a Christian
education for their children. . . nurturing those children in my
care spiritually, emotionally, academically and physically,
encouraging them to achieve their full potential as children of
God.
