Week of April 19, 2021

Week of April 19, 2021

Dear Parents,

This school year seems to be going faster and faster.  It is the middle of April already!!  The end of the year is coming but please help your child remember there are still things we need to learn for this school year.

During our Historical Fiction Unit in reading, we are reading the book "Number the Stars".  We are working on finding SIGNIFICANCE - how does this connect to earlier parts of the book?  Sometimes things that look minor become major themes in the book.  We are also trying to see this in the book we are reading for our book clubs.

The Christian Character Formation Project theme for this next week is Responsibility.  We will be looking at the story of Jesus appearing to his disciples on the road to Emmaus.

Summer School information is available for the nearby school districts.  If you are interested, please check the Echo.

There is MAP testing this week.  We will be testing on April 23 and April 30.  Please make sure your child is well rested.

The weather hasn't been as warm as it could be for April.  Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.

The spelling words and memory for this week are listed below and are listed on the special pages on the website.

Tuesday:   Matthew 28:19-20

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.  And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

Thursday:   The Second Article Part A

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.  He descended into hell.  The third day He rose again from the dead.  He ascended into heaven and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty.  From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.

What does this mean?  I believe that Jesus Christ, true God, begotten of the Father from eternity, and also true man, born of the Virgin Mary, is my Lord,
