April 22-26, 2024 Second Time Around - Recycling
We will learn about what it means to recycle and the importance of recycling this week. We will practice sorting different items by how we can recycle them. We will have fun taking "trash" items and making them into treasures. We will also practice the letter "Gg" in our letter journals and practice sorting recyclable items and trash. Our Bible lesson will be the story “Jesus Heals a Paralyzed Man from Matthew 9:1-8. We will talk about how Jesus has the power to heal and to forgive sins and how we should thank Him for His help and forgiveness.
Please put May 10th on your Calendar as a special day for your child at school. We will be hosting a “Day With Mom”. Please do your best to take off work or invite a Grandma, Aunt or other special woman to come and spend a class session with your child. We will have activities, crafts and a special snack! The invitation was sent home last week. Please RSVP so that we can plan accordingly! TTh class, if you are able to come, you may choose which session you would like to attend. Please indicate the time that you will be coming by circling it on your RSVP.
We will be singing in church on May 12th at the 9:30 am service. The kids are already learning the song and preparing to praise Jesus through their special music.
Our end of the year field trip will be at Roden Barnyard Adventures on Monday May 20th and Tuesday May 21st. We will be taking a bus and be gone during their normal class time. Permission slips will be coming out soon. Parents or other adults are welcome to come along with your child.
Our Summer Birthday celebration will be on Wednesday May 22nd and Thursday May 23rd. This is a fun snack time event where we sing happy birthday to all of our classmates who will be celebrating their birthdays in the summer! I will be sending out an email for you to sign up for items to bring in the near future.
Our final day of school will be on Friday May 24th. We will be having a closing service and celebrate all of the accomplishments that the kids have made this year! The MWF AM Class & TTh AM Class will have their closing service at 8:30 and the MWF PM Class will have their closing service at 10:00. The service will last about 30-40 minutes with a short chapel message, songs sung by the kids and a chance for you to take photos of your child. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend. Grandparents and other guests are welcome to come as well!
Please also remember that as the weather gets warmer, we will be going outside for fresh air! Please make sure that your child has proper clothes to be outside - a warm coat and hat if necessary.
