August 31 – September 3, 2026 “Wonderfully Made”
We had a great first week in 4K! We spent the week getting to know each other, learn our classroom rules and routines, and we had our first gym class and went into Chapel. We worked on the letter Ii in our alphabet books and heard its sound. During our Bible lesson we heard about how Jesus loves us and what he’s like.
Next week we will be talking about how we are wonderfully made by God. We’ll paint our library bags and get to go to library for the first time. We will focus on the letter Xx and practice saying its sound and writing it. Next week we will also start our daily phonics practice and begin math. Our Bible lessons will be about how God created our world.
Just a reminder that we do not have school next week Friday September 4 or Monday September 7 due to the Labor Day.
Today I sent home the September calendar. I also sent home our first Scholastic book flyer. I will be sending these home monthly. It is optional for you to purchase books through Scholastic. If you do purchase books, they will be delivered to school and I will send them home with your child when they arrive. For the month of September, please have your book orders in by September 10th. If you have any questions about Scholastic, please let me know.
Speech screening will take place at school on September 8th and 9th. If you haven’t filled out a permission slip for your child to be screened and would like to participate, please let me know. The initial screening is free.
Lastly, starting next week I will be sending home chapel envelopes. These envelopes are to be used as an optional donation that you can make to our charity of the month. Our school collects monetary donations that go to several organizations like Bob’s Under the Bridge, LWML, Hope for Haiti, and more. Our first chapel offerings are collected in August and September and are used for college kits that go to our prior students who are heading to college this year. If you would like to donate, please send your monetary donation in the envelope and write your child’s name on it and put it back in their folder by Friday each week.
