2K little learners are “nuts about numbers” this week.
We have a few new games to play that mostly focus on understanding the quantity of 1-5. A great activity for fine motor skills and pre-writing is using and isolating fingers to show quantity. ” Where is thumbkin?” song is also another way to have fun with finger dexterity. We will count to 10 as we play and move about the room. We will sing “Five little pumpkins” by super simple songs and look at some counting books. If your child has a fun number/counting book from home they would like me to show and count with during circle time, feel free to bring one in. We will put it right back in their bag when done with it. Pete the Cat and his four groovy buttons is a great story for us to read and watch this week. 2K will decorate a number 2 or 3, to practice their age.
Jesus time: We will hear the story of God’s promise to Abraham. He and his wife would have a son, Isaac, despite how old they were. “Nothing is impossible for God!!.” His family would grow to be as many as there are stars in the sky. That’s a lot of counting. 2K will have fun singing “Father Abraham.”
