Week of November 29

Our theme for this week is hibernation and we will be focusing on the letter “Qq” for “quiet.” We will be learning which animals migrate, adapt and hibernate. Please have your child bring an animal to hibernate on Monday. The animal will be hibernating all week and it will wake up on Friday to come home. If the animal your child is bringing will be missed too much at home please bring a picture of an animal that hibernates. Here are some examples of animals that hibernate that your child could bring: bears, box turtles, hedgehogs, bats, snakes or chipmunks. We will continue practicing for our upcoming Christmas program. Our Bible story for this week is “God’s Special Message to Mary.”

Please keep an eye out for your child’s advent calendar that will be coming home with them on Monday.

When we return after Thanksgiving break, please be looking for information about one more opportunity to help others in need:  In response to the novel The Family Under the Bridge, the Lutheran Junior Honor Society is collecting clothing, winter coats, hats, and gloves as well as toiletry items for Bob’s Under the Bridge, an organization that directly ministers to the homeless. – Created by Mrs. Yurk.
