Week of May 24th

Memorial Day: As we observe the holiday of Memorial Day, we remember with gratitude those who gave their lives in service to our country, and we are reminded of the even greater sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who laid down His life so that we might have eternal life. In a world that often forgets the cost of freedom, Christ calls us to live with thankful hearts, honoring both the courage of others and the grace He freely gives. May this day lead us to reflect on sacrifice, serve others with love, and place our hope in the risen Savior who conquered death forever.

  • Worship Services Back to Normal: Paul Church is back to its regular worshipping schedule with Sunday services at 8, 9:30 and 11.  Please note that there is no service this Monday due to Memorial Day.
  • Reading: We will complete Charlotte’s Web this week with more reading and fun activities. Students will be bringing home their big MyView books as we won’t need them any longer.
  • Writing: These final weeks will focus on students creating one final piece for their 3rd grade portfolio.  This piece will be in the mode of their choice and will be typed.  These assignments will be due on Wednesday, June 3rd.
  • Math: This is taught by Miss Schulz. Students are working hard to finish the year strong.
  • Spelling: We are done with spelling for the year.  Keep thinking about the rules we learned and how they apply to words you already know how to spell.
  • Religion: This week we will see how the disciples are treated following Jesus’ Ascension.  We will see the how Peter shared the Gospel with an Ethiopian man and how Jesus taught his disciples about love.
  • Memory Work: Memory work/spelling sheets will be sent home on Monday.  Both verses this week relate to our Religion lessons.  Tuesday’s memory is the Mark 16:15 and Thursday is Acts 4:12.
  • Powerful Panther Pillars: New this year, students will be working through the fruits of the spirit (now known as Panther Pillars) with their classmates and chapel families.  Our ninth and final pillar is SELF-CONTROL.
  • Weekly Quote: Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13
