This month we will be learning about “Pilate, Jesus on the Cross, Jesus Dies, The Empty Tomb, The Guards Tell Lies, Jesus appears to Women, Mary Sees Jesus, Road to Emmaus, and Easter Evening”. In Math, we will be covering money, telling time, measuring, patterning, geoboards, tangrams, adding and subtracting. In Reading, we are continuing with snap words, beginning and ending letter sounds, consonant blends and reading short stories. Science and Social Studies will give us opportunities to learn of God’s creation. March themes are Dr. Seuss, The Wind Blew, nutrition, and St. Patrick’s Day.
Eaton’s Pizza Book Challenge – March goal: 20 books
Grafton is excited to announce the return of their Summer Learning Program, featuring both enrichment and academic (remedial) courses tailored to meet the diverse needs of students. Enrichment Courses: These courses are open to all students residing in Grafton, without the need for a teacher’s recommendation. The offerings will be detailed in our upcoming summer school brochure. Registration for these enrichment courses will commence on Thursday, April 4. For more information and continuous updates, please visit the summer school section on our district website.
Academic: Remedial Reading and Math Courses For students entering grades 1st through 6th grade next year, academic classes will require a teacher’s recommendation to ensure support is directed towards those most in need. This year, eligibility for these courses will be based on students scoring below the 25th percentile on the MAP screener. Please refer to your child’s MAP scores or check with Mrs. Gieschen (denise.gieschen@splgrafton.org) to see if your child is eligible. ALL STUDENT SUBMISSIONS MUST BE IN BY MONDAY, MARCH 11TH.
