Week of January 3

Happy New Year!  The start of the new year is always a good time to update your child’s school supplies.  New twistable crayons, markers, and twistable colored pencils. It would be a good start to our new 2022 year.

This month we will be reviewing letter sounds,  consonant blends, and continue to be great readers.  In Math, we will be learning about money, graphing, patterning, geoboards, estimating, and fractions.  In Jesus time, we will be learning the following stories; Twelve Year Old Jesus, Jesus is Baptized, Jesus Makes a Sick Boy well, The Great Catch of Fish, The Farmer and the Seed, and Jairus’ Daughter.  Our themes this month will be winter, hibernation, animal tracks, Arctic and Antarctic animals.

January Book-It Goal – 20 books

Please remember in the winter months that we will be going out for recess.  Please dress your child appropriately, and label all coats, mittens, snowpants and boots with your child’s name or initials.  I find it helpful to put an extra pair of socks in your child’s backpack, because of our 2 recesses.  Thank you for your cooperation.
