Fun February Days! We have had an exciting couple weeks with a little more February excitement to come. There’s lots of special things upcoming, so take a look!
- Twosday: Tuesday is 2-22-22. We will have a day filled with a variety of twos activities. Students may dress in tutus, tiaras, ties, and tennis shoes. Fun! Fun!
- Farewell to February Hot Chocolate: The Lutheran Honor Society is having providing hot chocolate on Friday to raise awareness for our Building Hope in Haiti mission. Donations of $1 will be appreciated.
- Valentine’s Day: This year we will not be having a Valentine’s Day party. However students will be welcome to give friends Valentine’s. Please remember that we have 19 students in our class. Valentine’s should be brought on MONDAY!
- Even Odds Pizza: Mark your calendars for March 1st and have pizza at Even Odds. You have to mention St. Paul in order for your purchase to be counted.
- Reading: Winn Dixie is so good. We have learned a lot about the main character Opal. Ask your child about her. When you are reading at home, ask your child about the main character and what they can discover by going deeper into why they think, say, and do certain things.
- Math: This week we will start the week with fun 2s activities. Then we will explore polygons, parallelograms, and congruent shapes. Keep practicing the multiplication tables for multiplication.com completion. The goal is to have them all complete by Spring break which starts on March 18th. So we have one month to go!
- Spelling: This week’s words will focus on words with the following syllable pattern – vcccv. You may practice these words on Spelling City using unit 20 which has fun games and activities to learn the words. https://spellingcity.com/users/Haas
- Religion: On Tuesday we will do some fun 2s activities with the Bible. Then we will focus on the lesson of the Israelites and the Golden Calf.
- Writing:We have been working really hard on our writing with mystery presentations, personal narratives and President Reports. This week we will take a bit of a break and do some free writing.
- Memory Work:Tuesday’s memory is a focus on the number 2 but also has roots in our Bible story from last week. Thursday will be our Christian Character verse which is Mark 6:20a. Please see below for memory work.
- Christian Character Formation Project:Our Christian Character story will focus on Jesus honoring the faith of the Syrophoenecian woman with our virtue being diligence.
