Another week in the books! The students are working hard and seem to be loving what they are learning. I’m so thankful we get to learn together!
- Early Dismissal: Friday is an early dismissal day. Don’t forget that pick up is at 11:40.
- Valentine’s Day: This year we will not be having a Valentine’s Day party. However students will be welcome to give friends Valentine’s. Please remember that we have 19 students in our class. Valentine’s should be brought on MONDAY!
- Olympic Party: Instead of a Valentine’s Day Party, we will be having an Olympic party on February 18th. This will take place with the other 3rd grade where we will play Olympic like games. It will be a fun celebration of the 2022 Olympic Games which end on February 20th.
- Even Odds Pizza: Mark your calendars for March 1st and have pizza at Even Odds. You have to mention St. Paul in order for your purchase to be counted.
- Reading: We have started reading Winn Dixie and are exploring characters in our stories. Every time we read a books, the characters become our friends.
- Math: This week we will explore multiplying by 9 and angles. Then we will review and have a test. Keep practicing the multiplication tables for multiplication.com completion.
- Spelling: This week’s words will focus on suffixes – er, or, ess, ist. You may practice these words on Spelling City using unit 19 which has fun games and activities to learn the words. https://spellingcity.com/users/Haas
- Religion: Our lessons this week will continue our learning of Moses with a focus on God providing water from a rock and delivering the Ten Commandments.
- Writing: Our focus this week will be to complete our president reports and prepare for our oral presentations. Final draft of the President Report is due on Tuesday, February 22nd.
- Memory Work: This week’s memory will see us starting to recite the New Testament books of the Bible. Thursday will be our Christian Character verse is Mark 6:20a. Please see below for memory work.
- Christian Character Formation Project:Our Christian Character story will focus on the death of John the Baptist with our virtue again being justice.
