A week under our belts! Many students started the week off slow but picked up the pace once the week progressed. Thankfully we have no missing assignments! I look forward to continuing our Lenten Journey in these weeks leading up to Easter.
- Spring Musical: Please mark your calendars for Friday, April 29th as the 3rd –5th grade will be performing “Living Inside Out in an Upside Down World.” Our show times will be 2 pm and 6:45 pm. T-shirts have been ordered with $7 being added to your TADS account to pay for the shirt. This shirt is the dress code for the musical with jeans/shorts/athletic pants for the bottom. Parts were handed out today. Please let me know if you have questions. It was done quickly as students were preparing to leave.
- Reading: This week we will begin our final reading unit which focuses on research and looking deeply at non-fiction material.
- Math: We will begin our week with a test review and test. Then finish the week talking geometric solids, multiplying two digit numbers, and fair share. Students should keep working on multiplication.com if they haven’t earned their pencil!
- Spelling: Our words this week will focus on vowel patterns having ei and eigh. You may practice these words on Spelling City using unit 24 which has fun games and activities to learn the words. https://spellingcity.com/users/Haas
- Religion: We will begin our journey to the cross with lessons focus on Jesus in the Upper Room and Peter’s Denial.
- Writing: This week we will begin an informative unit where the students will create an encyclopedia entry for something that is of interest to them. We will work on pairing down the topic, researching, and categorizing our information.
- Memory Work:Tuesday’s memory will be lines that the assembly says for the musical. Thursday will have us memorizing the second part of Luther’s Morning Prayer. Please see below for memory work.
- Christian Character Formation Project:Our Christian Character story will focus on Jesus being anointed at Bethany with our virtue being self-sacrifice.
- Weekly Quote: I will sing to the Lord, for he is highly exalted….The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation… In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling. Exodus 15:1-2,13
Always in His care,
Mrs. Haas
