5 Reading: This week we will work on how we respond to answering questions on a test or quiz.  We will use the ACRONYM RACE. A RACE response is a structured writing strategy used to answer short-response questions completely and clearly. 

The acronym stands for: R – Restate: Turn the prompt or question into a statement that forms your topic sentence. A – Answer: Directly and fully answer all parts of the question. C – Cite: Provide specific evidence, data, or quotes from the text to support your answer. E – Explain: Elaborate on how your cited evidence proves or supports your answer.
