Mrs. Yurk’s Weekly Update

Ever Faithful. Ever His.

Updates

Thank you for your kindness shown to me during teacher appreciation week.  I also thank you for all the treats put out each and every day for the entire staff.  I assure you — all were enjoyed!  I hope I have communicated just how much I love what I do; this week allowed me that and to feel appreciated. Thank you so very much for your thoughtfulness during the week.

MONDAY:

  • An envelope was sent home last week with the youngest child in each family that asked if you could write brief notes of encouragement for each of your children.  Our hope is to give those notes to each child prior to the MAP testing.  By this time of the year, our kids seem a little test weary.  We understand!  That’s why we want to give them as much support as we can.  The MAP tests are a touch point for we teachers to reflect on both individual and the class’s learning, and for many students, they actually like to see the growth.  If you haven’t done so already, please return them on Monday.
  • The last progress reports will be sent home.  These are to be signed and returned by Friday, the 15th.
  • Track and Field Day forms will also be sent home.  We’ll have to check the forms for the return dates. 🙂

Graduation: Please be looking for updates from Ashley Brooks regarding the ways we can help with hosting the reception.  Before we know it, June will be here … before you know it, it will be next June! 🙂

Volunteer Opportunity:  Melissa Meier, a member of St. Paul, is the treasurer for the St. Finbar’s cemetery association. St. Finbar’s is a two acre historic cemetery located in the Town of Saukville, close to where Riveredge nature center is. She is looking for a group that could do a light raking of the grounds. Other volunteers have picked up the larger sticks this last weekend, (there are a lot of trees), but the small sticks and some leaves left from fall need to be raked.  It would be nice to get it done soon before the mosquitoes come!  A tentative date for this activity is May 16th.

If this is an opportunity for you to offer help for the community service hours, please reach out to me.  I’ll then be in touch with Mrs. Meier.
