This week we will celebrate the USA through the theme “Olympics”. We will learn about the winter Olympics and explore some of the different events that athletes participate in. We will paint a picture of the Olympic rings; learn about the gold, silver and bronze medals and make a torch to bring home.
Our Bible Lesson will be God Gives The Ten Commandments from Exodus 19, 20 & 24. . We will talk about how God wants us to obey His Commandments and how He gave us the Commandments to guide us as we serve Him.
Since we’ve been blessed with some snow, we will have OUTSIDE PLAY DAYS on THURSDAY and FRIDAY. Please make sure that your child brings ALL of his/her warm outside play clothes. A warm coat, snow pants, boots, a hat and mittens. We will be going out at the end of our day, so please just bring your child’s outside clothes in a bag.

We will be having our classroom Valentine’s Day parties on Monday February 14th and Tuesday, February 15th, Please use the “labels” that were sent home for their valentines. They can cut them apart and glue or tape them to the front of their valentines. I would like them to try to write their name on the back of their cards to sign them. This may take some kids awhile, so try to do a couple at a time. The kids will be delivering their valentines to their friends by using the numbers on the labels. They will be matching the numbers and letter in their name to the correct Valentine Mailbox. We will be making a Valentine box at school to collect our special cards. Please bring an empty cereal box for your child to use to collect their valentines. Room Parents sent out a sign up to bring items for the party. Please check the sign up to see if there is anything that you can donate. Thank you for your help!
Please note that the PM Class will not meet on Friday, Feb. 18th and we will not have school on Monday, February 21st!
You may order your books through the website www.scholastic.com and use the Code GLVNV, or you may fill out the forms on the back of the flyers and return it to me with a check to “Scholastic Books” and I will order them for you. Book orders are due on Friday. February 4th.
The preschool and kindergarten pajama party has been postponed and rescheduled for April 22nd. The theme will be “Bluey”. Watch for more details coming in April.
