I look forward to meeting with you this week or next week to discuss your child’s progress and set some goals for the remainder of the year. This week we will start our unit on Dinosaurs and start to learn about how God created dinosaurs along with the different characteristics of dinosaurs. We will create a special dinosaur with our name and practice the letter “D d” for dinosaur. We will also talk about how big some dinosaurs were and compare the size of their feet to our feet. This is a fun unit where the kids can share lots of fantastic facts and information with me and their classmates. Our Bible Lesson will be God Leads His People Through the Red Sea from Exodus 13-15. We will talk about how God is with us and takes care of us and how he is able to help us through all of our troubles.

As a reminder for the MWF Classes, the AM Class will not be meeting on Friday January 21 due to conferences. The PM Class will meet 8:15-10:00 am.
The February calendar, Valentine information and Scholastic Book Orders will be sent home this week. We will be having our classroom Valentine’s Day parties on Monday, February 14th and Tuesday, February 15th .. A Room parent will be sending out a sign up for you to donate an item for our party. Please use the “labels” that will be sent home for their valentines. They can cut them apart and glue or tape them to the front of their valentines. I would like them to try to write their name on the back of their cards to sign them. This may take some kids awhile, so try to do a couple at a time. The kids will be delivering their valentines to their friends by using the numbers on the labels. They will be matching the numbers and letter in their name to the correct Valentine Mailbox. We will be making their Valentine Mailbox at school, so no need to work on that at home.
You may order your books through the website www.scholastic.com and use the Code GLVNV, or you may fill out the forms on the back of the flyers and return it to me with a check to “Scholastic Books” and I will order them for you. Book orders are due on Friday. February 4th.
The preschool and kindergarten pajama party has been postponed and rescheduled for April 22nd. The theme will be “Bluey”. Watch for more details coming in April.
