From the Desk of Mrs. Schumann Dec. 3-10

Dear 8th Grade Parents and Students,

Reports cards were sent home yesterday.  You do NOT need to sign and return.

Secret Angels:  We are in the middle of Secret Angels.  Your eighth grader should be remembering their secret angel three times total between December 1 and December 21.  Please spend only $10 total.  Some students provide smaller gifts more frequently (often one per week) while other students leave hints and give one larger gift.  I’m hoping they are still keeping it all a secret!!!

The Fifth-Eighth grade Advent service is December 15, at 6:30.  Please keep this date open.  All of the Eighth graders will have a speaking part for this service.

Donations needed: In response to the novel The Family Under the Bridge, the Lutheran Junior Honor Society is collecting clothing, winter coats, hats, and gloves as well as toiletry items for Bob’s Under the Bridge, an organization that directly ministers to the homeless. Items may be brought to the classroom or placed directly in the barrels located at the main entrance.

World of Discovery Fine Arts Fair- Project Selection sheets are due December 10.  That’s Friday. Contact me if you have questions.

DC Update:  A few of you have asked me if a payment was due soon.  The answer to that question is, yes!  The second payment was due December 2.  Please log into Hemisphere Travel and take care of your second payment.  If you haven’t already told me who you are rooming with for the trip, please email me.  I’m pretty much assuming you are rooming with your child, but if you have arranged to room with another parent and child, I will need to be told that.  Let’s say I would like to hear from you before we break for our Christmas.  I will send in your fundraising money in January and let you know how much your child has earned.  One more update I can share with you is that we will not be able to tour the Air and Space Museum.  It will be closed for remodeling and much needed renovations.  It will reopen in the fall of 2022.
