Dear 8th Grade Parents and Students,
Middle School Christmas Party: We go bowling for our Christmas party. This year we are bowling on Tuesday, Dec. 21 from 10:00-12:00. Students may bring money along to buy food or soda. If you haven’t already turned in the permission trip for this event, please do so before Tuesday. The Christmas party will continue on Wednesday, when the teachers treat the students to an ice cream sundae bar. Wednesday will also be the day the eighth graders reveal their identity to their secret angel.
Thank you for bringing your child to the advent service. I was very proud of the eighth graders and the way they showed leadership to the younger grades.
DC Update: We have secured a wreath laying ceremony at Arlington Cemetery. Only four students are chosen from our class to do the wreath laying. Students are chosen by an essay they write. I sent home the instructions for writing the essay with each eighth grader on Friday. I will also email all of you a copy of the instructions. Should your child want to be considered for this honor, their essays will need to be turned in by February 1. The essays will be judged anonymously by a panel of judges. The four students receiving the highest marks on their essays will be the ones chosen to lay the wreath.
Finally- In January, I will be sending in the fundraising money your child has earned the last few months to Hemisphere Travel. They will credit your account after receiving the money and then you will see the balance of what you owe for the trip.
