For the Week of November 28

Dear Families,

Our last week before Thanksgiving break has been fun-filled.  Excitement is in the air preparing for Thanksgiving AND for our Advent Christmas Service on December 1!!

This Past Week:

This week we focused on the life of Joseph and we will continue with that for one more week.  Joseph and his family were reunited and the Israelites began their long stay in Egypt.   We began to practice our measuring skills.  These little readers have gained so much knowledge in how to read non-fiction and biographies! We end our unit on Friday.   In Science, we continue our journey with Motion and Forces.

Next week (AFTER THANKSGIVING BREAK):

Christian Character Formation Project focuses on Jehoshaphat Trusts Gods for Victory.   Our virtue is COURAGE: God’s power for you to overcome fear.

We will pose this question? How can you trust, seek and follow the Lord in every situation especially when you are afraid?

A peek ahead takes us to continue the saga of Joseph and his adventures in Egypt,  in math the mathematicians will practice more with word problems, telling time, and estimating. The little readers start a NEW UNIT: Mysteries! In Science we will continue our new unit, Force and Motion.

Scholastic Book online order: RMQFW Due Date Monday, December 20. Then I will place all online orders.

The Eighth Commandment

You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

What does this mean?

We should fear and love God so that we do not tell lies about our neighbor, betray him, slander him, or hurt his reputation, but defend him, speak well of him, and explain everything in the kindest way.

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid” (Psalm 56:3-4).
