Dear Families, 

This week was exhausting, yet so much fun.  The students were very impressive with their ingenuity, group participation, and their work ethic.  I am very blessed to be their teacher.  

I am also thankful for all of you meeting for parent teacher conferences.  The students did so well! 

This Past Week:

This week we continued our study of Moses and God’s plan for him.  We focused on how God has a plan for each of the students as well.  I am using clips from the cartoon Prince of Egypt and the old 1956 movie the Ten Commandments to show some parts of the story.  For Reading, we completed the Mystery Unit and ended with Mystery Presentations presented to second grade.  The third grade detectives did very well to encourage the second grade students to read mysteries. In Science, we had a blast creating our pinball machines.  We ended the week with Pinball Machine Mania and both third grades brought their pinball machines for each other to enjoy.  It was quite a sight!  Stay tuned for our next unit in Science. 

Next week:

Christian Character Formation Project will be on hold next week as we celebrate National Lutheran Schools Week and take a “trip” to Zambia.   Our virtue will also be on hold. 

A peek ahead shows that our class will prepare for our Chapel on Feb. 2.  (Parents are welcome to join in the balcony).  In math we will begin to prepare for the start of MULTIPLICATION.  (IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO HAVE A SET OF FLASH CARDS OF MULTIPLICATION FACTS AT HOME.  Dollar Tree has some.) Our class will read do a book study together as a class.  We are reading Ramona the Pest.  Science will be a new unit.
