Dear Families,
Phew! This was one fun week, even though I tell the students I don’t allow having fun. (wink). We started and ended the week with parties! Yes! Next week is looking fun as well!
Next WEEK: Tuesday is 2-22-22 and we have MANY Totally Awesome Activities TO do. So, students can wear: tutus, tiaras, ties, and tennis shoes.
Wednesday, I have a substitute, Mrs. Thiede, due to my having a colonoscopy. This is routine, so no need to worry.
Thursday and Friday should be pretty normal days.
This Past Week:
This week we continued our study of Moses and God’s plan for him and the Israelites in the desert. God provided for them, just as He provides for us too. I am using clips from the cartoon Prince of Egypt and the old 1956 movie the Ten Commandments to show some parts of the story. For Reading, we began our next unit Character Studies, which helps the students take a deeper look into why authors wrote the characters in the books they read. Our Mentor Text is Because of Winn-Dixie, which provides a great illustration of character development. In Science, we investigated more about climates around the world. We finally began our group Biome study. Presentations will be next week.
Next week:
Christian Character Formation Project will be about Jesus Honors the Syrophoenician Woman’s Faith. Our virtue is DILIGENCE: God’s power for you to focus on your work. We strive to answer the question: How can you pursue Jesus, no matter what the obstacles?
A peek ahead shows that we have our 2-22-22 Celebration on Tuesday. In math we continue with MULTIPLICATION and now adding in angles. Many students are well on thier way up the quest to become a Multiplication NINJA. We continue our new UNIT: Character Studies in reading. We will continue with Climates in Science.
Scholastic Book online order: RMQFW Due Date Monday, March 14. Then I will place all online orders.
