5th Grade Families,
Happy Friday Everyone! Happy Mother’s Day to all the hard working moms out there!
Only FOUR weeks to go in this school year. I want to send a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped make teacher appreciation week so special for all of the teachers this past week. To those that sent gifts – I LOVE them so much! Your gifts were not necessary, but so appreciated 🙂 We will be heading to Riveredge on Thursday this week. Please see my email with all of the details. MAP testing will begin this week. The list of important dates is getting shorter.
Please continue to monitor your child’s progress & effort and encourage him/her to finish this year giving his/her best academic effort and by showing respect each and every day. Please note that we will be MAP testing on Wednesday for reading & next week Wednesday for math. Please be sure your child eats some filling breakfast each morning and gets a good night of sleep the night before. I would also ask that you encourage your child to do his/her best on our final math MAP test to show what he/she has learned this year. Data from MAP tests is very helpful to future teachers in supporting students, making curriculum changes, and also aids us in making decisions about your child’s math placement (this is especially helpful as your child gets closer to 8th grade). Have a great weekend!
