Okay for Now

• Just as in life, Doug is balancing the successes, such as learning to read, with the hardships, such as being judged by others.
• We’ll also connect to historical circumstances of the time, especially as Lucas, Doug’s oldest brother, returns from Vietnam.  We’ll build background knowledge on the treatment of US veterans and their physical and emotional conditions when returning from Vietnam.  
• Expect nearly daily reading reflections as well as thematic reader responses, both of which will be found on Google Classroom.
