We’ll continue working with creating fluency through compound and complex sentences as well as deepening the impact of our writing through word choice and voice.  The assessment over our current pattern will be Monday, February 7th.

We began our next formal writing paper, an argumentative piece.  For its introduction, we viewed a number of commercials, viewing them not only for what they say, but also for what is left unsaid, making us aware of the claims advertisements make as well as the counterclaim, the other perspective.  Students will be working with topics that do the same:  examine more than one side of an issue.
