7th Literature

As we continue reading The False Prince (ask your child what Conner’s plan is!!), we also continue to develop as readers.  The strategies we’re working with focus on character, and we’re discovering that our relationship with characters reflects those we have of people in our lives:

  • We expect characters to be complex, showing more than one trait — a quality that defines them over a length of time, such as “thoughtful” or “competitive” or “courageous.”
  • We expect that our first impressions of characters will be revised as authors reveal more details about the characters.

Nearly daily reflections, as well as reader responses, are found on Google Classroom.
