Jan. 9-15th Update

If you are interested in ordering a book (or two!) for your child, please consider ordering through the Scholastic website and using the 5/6th grade code: XXHN3. With a $25 order, you can pick a FREE $5 Book (use code: READS). Thank you for your support!

Daily Assignment Printouts: will be NO LONGER BE SENT OUT.  It will now be students’ responsibility to fill out their assignment notebook completely before leaving school each day.

Supplies: Many of the fifth graders’ supplies are missing/damaged/have run out.  Many students have lost or run out of glue sticks and many whiteboard EXPO markers have dried up.  Please check in with your 5th grader regarding his/her supplies – especially pencils, colored correcting pens, EXPO markers and glue sticks.  Please replenish their stock of supplies if necessary.

World of Discovery Fair:  Students whose projects have been accepted may begin work on their WODF Projects.  Students have four months to complete this project and should put a significant amount of time and effort into this project throughout that time period. Students will be graded by a panel of judges and awards will be given in each category.  We can’t wait to see our students’ show off their artistic talents & gifts!

Camp Luther:  If interested, there will be a drawing for a free week at Camp Luther.  For those interested, summer camp forms are due back to me by Jan 10th.

Items Needed:  Later this spring, each 5th graders will need a shoebox for a Science project. I am giving you a heads up now…. If someone buys a new pair of shoes in the coming months, please send a box or two with your 5th grader. The kids can drop them in Mrs. Zvara’s classroom anytime in the morning.
