FOR THE WEEK OF DECEMBER 5

Dear Families,

I am so proud of our class and what an amazing job they did sharing the GOOD NEWS with the school and congregation on Wednesday!  I actually got goosebumps and a little choked up during “Oh Come All Ye Faithful”.  Wow!  Blessings to you all as you continue down the Advent Journey on our way to see Jesus.

This Past Week:

This week we finished up the life of Joseph and the many significant part of his story.  On Friday, we acted out all the different parts.  The students loved acting it out.   We worked on many word problem tactics in math this week.  Our class had an exciting week in Reading as we began our Mystery Unit, the CHIEF needed our help and were asked to help solve some cases.  The little detectives learned quickly how to spot a clue, find evidence, and solve the case.  This is a fun Unit that I think all will enjoy!   In Science, we continue our journey with Motion and Forces.  The students were tasked with building a bridge in groups.  Monday will see who has a future in engineering!

Next week:

Christian Character Formation Project focuses on Israel’s Kings Turn Away From God.   Our virtue is RESPECT: God’s power for you to honor Him and others..

We will pose this question? How can you respect God through the responsibilities He has given
you?

A peek ahead takes us to an advent journey of the Story of Jesus birth,  in math the mathematicians will concentrate on fractions. The little detectives continue the NEW UNIT: Mysteries! In Science we will continue our new unit, Force and Motion.

Scholastic Book online order: RMQFW Due Date Monday, December 20. Then I will place all online orders.

FIELD TRIP!!!! We will be going on a field trip to Mequon Nature Preserve on Wednesday.  The weather looks like it will cooperate.  It will be a little chilly, but otherwise looking good!  Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately and in layers.  Outdoor type boots are recommended.  You will need to send a bag lunch along.  We will eat at the MNP.
Since it is a chapel day, we will need to wear chapel clothes and then they can change into other clothes quickly.  But I would suggest that the girls don’t need to get too fancy for chapel. It might be helpful to send items over the course of two days. Permission slips due Monday.  YOU WILL BE CHARGED $6 on TADS. Please don’t send in money.

Christmas Party December 22 (REMINDER IT IS NOW A HALF DAY).
The children will have a present exchange.  Girls will bring a Girls present and Boys will bring a Boys present.  Please keep the cost of the present under $10.

Ninth Commandment –

You shall not covet your neighbor’s house.

What does this mean? We should fear and love God so that we do not scheme to get our neighbor’s inheritance or house, or get it in a way which only appears right, but help and be of service to him in keeping it.

Psalm 25:9-10 – God lead the humble in what is right and teaches the humble his way. All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.
