English

In Writer’s Workshop, we will begin drafting our Historical Fiction children’s stories. Our goal is to intertwine real, historical details as we show our developed characters’ and their experiences. We have begun working with morphology - the study of word parts and their meanings - to aid us in our reading and vocabulary.

Health

Math A

This week we will cover these topics: We will finish up the test on Monday and then move on to module 7.  Some of the topics discussed this week will be about the relationship between two variables and how to write an equation when given information in a table.

Math B

PE

Welcome back to PE!  We have some great activities planned this year.

Reading

This week, we will follow along with the Weird Watsons as they spend some time in Birmingham, Alabama. Since we will be reading about the 16th Street Church Bombing that took place in 1963, we will be using our historical fiction strategy of using real photos, videos, and interviews to learn more about the real event. We will also review strategies about the impact that settings can have on characters and how they act/treat others.

Religion

April 22-26: This week we look at the Bible stories of healing the lame man, the apostles before the council, the apostles in prison, and the persecution of the early church. Memory this week is 2 Corinthians 5:14-15, ESV wording, and is due Thursday. Sermon note #6 is due Monday, May 13.

Science
