Center for Academic

Resources and Enrichment

We enable children to succeed according to the talents and gifts the Lord has blessed them with. The Academic Center for Excellence was established to help meet the needs of all students. Students are given time to explore their strengths in a supportive environment.

  • The Center for Academic Resources and Enrichment uses various screenings and tests to determine students’ strengths and areas of needed skill develpment.
  • CARE provides one-on-one and/or small-group instruction for all students.
  • Students identified as gifted receive enrichment instruction and/or consultation in the Center for Academic Resources and Enrichment.
  • The Center for Academic Resources and Enrichment provides opportunity for advance readers to develop their skills.
  • The CARE director assists parents and teachers when a learning disability is identified.

Mrs. Rose Meier is the Center for Academic Resources and Enrichment director. She has over 25 years of classroom teaching experience. Mrs. Meier graduated from Concordia Teachers’ College, Seward, Nebraska with a major in elementary education and a minor in art. She received her Master’s Degree in Reading and Learning Disabilities from Cardinal Stritch University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2002. Mrs. Meier is a member of the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) and the Wisconsin and the International Reading Association (IRA).

Since its conception, CARE (formerly named the Learning Center) has been a passion for Mrs. Meier. She firmly believes all students should be given the opportunity to be successful in developing their own unique skills.  Mrs. Meier shows this zeal through attending professional conferences. She has developed conference sectionals on the necessity for schools to meet the needs of all students.
