This past week was very enjoyable. It was nice to have a break from the snow and frigid temperatures. I know many of us have been busy with school and basketball events. In my opinion, basketball season is just as hectic as the holiday season. Thankfully God is there for all of us when we feel overwhelmed. There are also many people at St. Paul who are always willing to help out which is wonderful. I am looking forward to next week because Parisi speed training will be providing a free clinic on Monday and Tuesday during PE. The 6th and 8th grade students will need to bring PE clothes on Monday because I switched their health class to Wednesday.
5th Grade Computer
· The students have continued to improve their keyboarding skills. We have been learning two new keys daily. Once we learn all the keys and practice accuracy we will work on speed.
· We have been completing a new lesson every 2 days. The students have 2 class periods to finish. If they do not finish they are expected to complete it for homework.
· Next week we will be testing speed and accuracy as well as typing up a writing assignment for Mr. Kolander.
Physical Education
· The elementary students continued their unit the skills of chasing, fleeing, and dodging. We also added the skills of jumping, hoping, and leaping.
· Middle school finished the Volleyball unit. Next up is the Parisi presentation on Monday and Tuesday.
Health
· This week the elementary health students reviewed the immune system and looked at the differences and similarities between prescription and over the counter medicines.
· The 6th graders reviewed for their test next Wednesday, February 8th
· 7th grade corrected their tests. They all did a nice job. We started our unit on personal health.
· 8th grade took a look at defense mechanisms and had a chance to act them out in role plays.
May God bless our weekend with safety and relaxation. Good luck to the 3rd, 4th, and middle school basketball teams. Go Panthers!!!
